Score a page

Paste a URL, get its Slop Score.

sloplint reads the page's HTML and its stylesheets and grades them with the same engine as the CLI: the rules run in your browser, and the score card is yours to share.

A small fetcher reads the page as a logged-out visitor: the HTML, plus up to 8 stylesheets from the same site. It sends no cookies, honors robots.txt and stops at 2 MB. Pages that render with JavaScript, or sit behind a sign-in, come back empty or wrong here: use the bookmarklet on the live page instead.

Bookmarklet: score the page you are on

The bookmarklet grades the live page in your tab, after its JavaScript has run and with you signed in, and shows the findings in an overlay. The page itself never leaves your browser: the engine loads from this site and runs in your tab.

Drag the button to your bookmarks bar, open any page, then click the bookmark. Click it again to re-score.

On a phone, or the drag does not work

Bookmark any page, edit the bookmark, and replace its URL with this code:

Sites with a strict Content-Security-Policy (GitHub, many banks and admin consoles) can block bookmarklets from loading outside code. You will see a message saying so, or nothing at all; score those pages with the URL box above. Stylesheets from other origins that are served without CORS cannot be read by any script, so the overlay counts them instead of grading them.
